Tuesday Plans

This morning I did some knitting. I only have 2 more inches to add to this one square. I hope to get that done within the next hour or so. I also made some necessary phone calls this morning.
They've been repairing something outside and the banging is so annoying. I have music on but it can't be heard above the noise outside. There is a lull in the noise now so I'm guessing that they may have taken a break for lunch.
This afternoon I'll stop in to see how Mom is doing and this evening I'll go to the PSM meeting. At least I'll have 1 block to hand in today. There are a few things to be done around the house. I'll fit that in sometime today, also.

Visiting

We visited with Mom today. When leaving her place we tried a new way back home. It was a very scenic ride and was a shorter distance than we had previously taken. I'm going to go to Mom's that way the next time. It will make the ride easier and faster.
Tonight I plan to knit 2 gray blocks for the afghan the PSM is making. We meet tomorrow and I'd like to have them completed. They are not hard, but it takes a couple of hours to do one block. If I finish one today I have all day tomorrow to do the other. I will visit a friend tonight and we will knit together as we visit. It's always more fun when you have company when you're doing crafts.

A Sleepy Day

Today was a day for staying out of the heat. I stayed in all day except for going out for the mail a half hour ago. I moved the bookcase to another spot in the kitchen today. That was the only chore that got done. It was a sleepy day otherwise. Tomorrow is church where I will read again. I'll most likely visit Mom for a few hours later in the day. In the evening, there is a Classic Mystery on which will be another Hercule Poirot mystery by Agatha Christie. I hope to watch that. There are no other plans for the day.

An Eye Cup

A couple of my friends and I met for lunch in Milford. After lunch we stopped at a few antique shops along the Delaware river. I found an eye cup at one of the shops. I remember my parents having one when I was a wee one. I remember wishing that I had one when I got something in my eye a few years ago. I don't know whatever happened to the one our family had, but I was so excited when I saw these that I succumbed to the temptation and purchased an inexpensive one. I intend to use it if need be. It is made of clear glass. They had a couple of blue glass ones but they were more expensive so I chose the clear glass eye cup which is on a pedestal. I'm not sure where I'll keep it. Perhaps I'll display it on my tea table along with the tea set, or I'll just keep it in the medicine cabinet so that it will be handy if I need it.

Where Did The Week Go?

We visited Mom this afternoon. I showed P & S how to get to her place. On our way home we stopped for something to eat. They just left for home. I was on the go all day today. I'm glad that I can finally relax a bit now. I brushed Sandy and tried to brush Coco. She's not as easy to catch. I guess she doesn't know that brushing is something she may like. I can't believe that tomorrow is Thursday already. Where did the week go?

We Got A Lot Done!

Today was a very busy productive day. E. and I met with a real estate agent to prepare to sell the house. We packed my car with things we wanted to remove from the premises. After having lunch at a local fast food place, we traveled back home and spent some time with Mom. By the time I dropped E. off and returned home, it was 5:45pm. I was too hot and tired to empty the car of it's newly acquired contents so that will have to be done tomorrow. I'd also like to clean the kitchen floor and the bathrooms tomorrow. It's that time again. Later in the day the PSM meets again. I look forward to our time together.

Arrive Too Late or Leave Too Early

We visited Mom today. We stayed for about 3 hours. I think that the nurse was glad to get rid of us because she had things she wanted to do.
I attended mass this morning. It felt like there were very few people in church today. Two people walked in when the priest was starting his homily. They very foolishly used the side door in the front of the church and couldn't help being noticed. The priest looked at them as they entered. I'm sure he wasn't pleased. It is disrupting to have someone enter the church from the front when mass is going on. I wonder if they walk into movies 10 minutes late? Then there are the people who exit church right after they receive communion. I guess that they want to beat everyone out of the parking lot.

"Music Soothes The ..."

Just listening to some relaxing music. I fell asleep for an hour earlier this evening while the music was playing. It was a stressful day so the music helped me to relax. I'm not putting on the evening news which I usually watch because I don't want to upset the status quo of relaxation by hearing some depressing news. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for breakfast and later in the day I'll visit Mom. I'll take her the newspaper so she can do the crossword puzzles. I hope that she's relaxing comfortably tonight and that they can help her with her issues.

What A Day This Has Been!

It was another hot weather day today. E. and I took Mom to the doctor. He put her in the hospital for the weekend. I hope that he's able to help her health problems. She'll go to rehab when she's released from the hospital. At least with her there, maybe we'll get some answers as to why she's got certain ailments that she didn't have before. She was in good spirits when we left. E. got her 2 papers so she can do the crossword puzzles, and 2 books from the recycle bin at the hospital. They were only $ .25 a piece. That should keep her busy until tomorrow when maybe they'll turn on the tv for her.

Another Day, Thankfully!

It did rain today, thank goodness. We need the rain badly. I went out to pick up my meds and a newspaper this morning. I also rented a wheelchair which I'll need for a family member tomorrow. Have done some reading today. Got my painting into a frame but still need to attach the wire so that I can hang the picture. I hope to get that done today also. I need to find a pattern for a dress I plan to make for my great niece. I own the pattern, just need to remember where I put it. It's one of those "Senior moments" sneaking up on me. Last night I went to the PSM meeting. I enjoyed myself and it was good to get out. I have plans for Saturday. I will check the weather forecast for Friday. Hopefully, if it is nice, I can get out and about on Friday. I felt so wonderful the other day when I went down to the shore and got out of the house for a couple of hours. It gave me a new perspective on things. I'd like to state that I'm ready for some fun activities. Bring on the fun!!!!!

Why Doesn't It Rain?

We found some interesting shows which are mysteries on the tube. WHO Knew? We've been watching them all afternoon. I went to church this morning and afterwards stopped at the store to pick up a few things. It's still hot today. I'd like it to rain for a day so that the grass outside my window is no longer looking like straw. I may only have a couple of days to wait. We need the rain so badly.

The Week From...

This was the worst week I've had in a long time. I'm so happy that it's coming to an end. May it never be repeated in any way. When you hit the bottom there's only one way to go and that is up. So up and away I go, on to another week.
There are only 3 things on my calendar this week. Two of the things will bring pleasure, one will be annoying. The annoying day will be the day I have to get Mom to another doctor appointment. Does anyone want to take bets on whether I get her to the appointment or not? I guess that time will tell. Here's to having one of the best weeks of the year!

Does Anyone There Do Housecalls?

Another day of extreme heat. I'm waiting for a call from the doctor's office. I called over an hour ago. Of course, when I called I had to leave a message because you don't get to speak to a real human. I asked the most ridiculous question at the end of my phone call. I can just hear all the doctors and nurses laughing right now. I inquired if anyone there made "Housecalls". Remember those days? If you don't your very, very young. Too sick to go to the doctor and not sick enough to call for an ambulance. We need something in between in our health care system. Something for seniors who are not ambulatory and may be on oxygen besides. Why do the sick and elderly have to drag themselves out in 100 degree heat to see a doctor? I say, bring back the doctor who will do Housecalls.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Went to the PSM meeting tonight. Thank goodness for air conditioning!!! There were only four of us there tonight. I'm sure that the exteme heat kept everyone else away. We had fun telling ghost stories of a sort tonight. Actually we talked about our experience with spirits of the deceased and about angels like those in "Touched By An Angel" and "Highway To Heaven". I'm not sure how we got on the subject but everyone had a story to tell. I came home early because I promised that I would. We were worried about a power outage happening since the temperature reached 102 here today. Thankfully, Mom was fine, happy and watching TV when I returned. All is well with my world!!

We're Having A Heat Wave

We're having a heat wave. It was about 97 degrees today. They say it will reach 100 by tomorrow. I'm staying in as much as I can, but tomorrow I have an appointment and must venture outside. I finished my last block for the group afghan and will hand it in tomorrow. I will be able to finish Mom's afghan starting tomorrow. I probably have about 7 inches left to do on it. When that's done I'm going to take a break for about a week from knitting. Would love to get to my next painting. I'm waiting for the large canvas to arrive. I may need to purchase some oil paints before I start.

The Fourth of July

The Fourth of July. I went to church and we've been watching patriotic movies on the tube. It's a small group. As a matter of fact I'm not sure you'd call it a group because it's just the two of us. But we're good company for each other if I do say so myself. I'm in the mood to paint, believe it or not. I may do so in a while. Then again, maybe I won't. I can't read, too restless. I can't knit, equally restless. Could I nap? You "betcha". What an escape that would be to retreat into dreamland.

A Day To Celebrate

A beautiful, warm, day, to bad we stayed inside, but it was 89 degrees outside. There was AC inside. I didn't do too many interesting things. I read, played with the computer, and cooked. Tomorrow is church, followed by our Fourth of July celebration. I look forward to watching the Boston Pops on TV tomorrow evening. It's too bad they only show us the last hour on our station, I'd really love to view the whole thing. Also on the tv will be another Agatha Christie mystery. This one will be Hercule Poirot. The title is "Murder On The Orient Express". I've seen that a couple of times by different actors. It's a good story.
Happy 4th of July, everyone.

A Willow In A Wind Storm

The car has been serviced. Thankfully, there wasn't anything else wrong with it. It just needed an oil change and a tire rotation. I came home and made ham and cabbage and potatoes for supper which was requested by Mom. We just had our first piece of watermelon for dessert. The cats have been following me back and forth to and from the bedrooms all day. I guess I've changed position and rooms around the house all day long. Am I restless? " I'm as restless as a willow in a wind storm."

Another Beautiful Day

It's a lazy afternoon. The AC is turned off and the doors are opened. The sky is beautiful! It's blue with white clouds which have a bit of gray underneath, although we're not suppose to have rain today. The sun goes in and out. I was finishing up my painting in the craft room. When the sun was shining I had good light, but when the sun went in, I couldn't see what I was doing. It occurred to me that I should have been using my Ott light which is suppose to replicate daylight. Hopefully, I'll remember the next time.
I've decided to put the Iris painting on "hold" and do a seascape instead. I've ordered a canvas for it which I'm hoping will come next week. If I do it well, it'll be a beauty. I hope that I improve with each painting I do which means that I have to learn something each time. If I like the seascape, I'll hang it over my couch until I tire of it. If it's good, maybe I won't.
