It's Been A Busy Week

What a busy week it has been. I haven't had time to write since Monday. Today was our Quilt Guild meeting. I got home from the lecture at about 1pm. Last night I completed the 2 BOM for today's meeting. I didn't win the drawing however. So, I'm going to make the BOM for next week and maybe I'll have better luck with the drawing. Next months block is Red, White and Blue. I'd be happy winning that one also. I also have to make a block for our outgoing President because we always present them with a block from all the members from which they can make a quilt to remember their tenure as President. Someone else has volunteered to be the secretary for next year so I'm off the hook as far as that is concerned. Maybe I'll be able to devote the time I spent typing minutes to quilting projects for community service or BOM. I'd like to do more of the workshops next year also.
This past Tuesday was the Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting. It was a productive business meeting with the president of the DOM present and also Sister J. They said that they will help fund us in the future. They loved the shawls and lap blankets we had on display. They chose my Shawl in the "Waterfall" yarn to be a gift for the Communtion Breakfast in June. I felt good about that. They also liked the lap blanket I made in the same type variegated yarn. It's small and is going to be good for someone in a wheelchair.
On Wednesday I went down to Mom's so I could put her garbage out in the evening. I stayed overnight so that I could bring the cans in on Thursday Morning. I also stayed until after lunch which was a request from her. When I left her home I stopped at F. She was having some of the gals over for a quilting day. Since I got there at 1:15pm instead of 10:00am, I didn't quilt, but decided to work on my knitting. Two other women also knitted instead of quilting.
This Sunday is our Red Hat outing after church. Our shawls will be on display at every mass and father is going to bless them. He will also bless our hands. P. and I will attend the same mass that morning. I'm looking forward to the brief attention our ministry will receive. Maybe we'll get more members to join us. We only have 10 people doing the knitting and crocheting so far. There will also be a blurb in the church bulletin which will give information about the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
It's been a very busy week, but one which I have enjoyed. I'm glad that all weeks aren't that busy, however.
