Thursday's Chores
Tomorrow will start with "Morning Joe". I have a doctor appointment at 9:00am. After I return home I'll finish today's project. If it doesn't rain in the afternoon, I'll take a walk around our neighborhood. If the walk invigorates me I'll tackle another room and clean. I'm thinking that the perfect room to work on would be the bedroom. I could take out the rest of my summer clothes and put away some winter things. When that's done I'll dust and vacuum. I'll be happy that I have two rooms looking Spic and Span. I may have mentioned that I'm hosting MJ next Tuesday. I'll get the rest of the place cleaned for company on Monday.
The Craft Room
Today's assignment turned out to be the craft room. I removed the items which have nothing to do with the 4 hobbies I have. Tomorrow I'll have to store them in the closet in the living room. That will be a long project because I'll have to remove most of the stuff and put it all back in with the new stuff. The curtain in the craft room will get a washing tomorrow, and when it's done I'll rehang it. I still have some straightening to do in there and I'll need to dust then vacuum before I'm through with the room. Doing all that may turn into an all day project but I'll feel so good when I'm done. There is now floor space to walk around in when I'm working in there. I'm hoping that the more spacious look to a very small room will please me when I'm in there. I shouldn't get claustophobic and resist doing either sewing, painting, beading or scrapbooking in that room from now on.
Another Great Morning
This morning has gotten off to a great start. I watched my favorite morning program, took a shower, had breakfast and went for a walk. Now, before lunch, I'll start with my scheduled plan for Wednesday. The walk was invigorating because the weather was cool. I had a light sweatshirt on which was just enough to keep out the cold but not make me overheated from the walk. I'm going to try to walk tomorrow and Friday as well. It's a good way to start the day. I may be hosting MJ next Tuesday so I'll be ahead of the game for cleaning by starting a week early. Maybe I'll even get to the craft room. Wouldn't that be wonderful? What a feeling of accomplishment that would be. The walk has energized me. I think I can get a lot done today.

A Wish
If I could have 1 wish come true this week it would be to have a professional organizer help me get my craft room in shape. In order to that it would probably be necessary to also get my living room storage closet in shape. So, I guess the wish would include that also. I still need to get things off of the floor. I have enough storage containers, but need more floor space to get around. My guitars could be hung on the wall in that room getting them off the floor. My sewing machine storage carrier could be put in the living room closet to get it off the floor. My Dickens Village could also go into the living room. It's too overwhelming to tackle by my self which is why I'd like a professional organizer's help. If the things I mentioned were done, I could get to the computer, the sewing machine, and the art table with no problem. It would be a working room. Does anyone out there know a professional organizer who is not expensive? Free would be even better.
A Three Day Plan
I've made a schedule for the next three days. Wednesday and Thursday mornings will be set aside for cleaning chores, and Friday will be the grocery shopping day. After shopping on Friday, I'll have my hair done. The rest of that afternoon will be mine. On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, I'll probably sew for awhile. I decided that the next 3 days would be good for those activities because the weather will be cooler. I won't need the AC while I clean and won't be sweating from the heat when I go out to shop. This weekend I'll get back to my knitting and also go to the store for yarn for 2 more afghans. Now we'll see if all goes as planned. As George Peppard's character in a TV drama always said, "I love it when a plan comes together".
Good Morning!
Good Morning! Another beautiful day. I've cleaned up the kitchen and am now ready to sew. I've decided to start with the binding on the baby quilt. That way I can sew and still be in the cool breeze from the ceiling fan. I have the back door opened and I can hear the AC units going outside. Mine, hopefully, will not be needed today. I'm looking forward to another productive day of sewing.

14 OF 48 Done
Tomorrow will be a hot day also. So far, the ceiling fan is doing the job. Hopefully, that will also be the case for tomorrow. Tomorrow night it will rain and the temperatures will begin to drop. So, I just need to get through one more day without AC for awhile. Perhaps, it'll be cool enough in the house in the morning to be able to sew for a while in the sewing room. I'd be able to do a few more blocks. I've done 14 of the 48 required for the quilt so far. Remember that "slow and steady" wins the race. Two or three blocks completed a day will eventually add up to 48. It seems that the most prolific of the quilters in our group do manage to sew for at least a half hour each day. It would be a good idea to discipline myself enough to be able to do that every day. I think that I'll try that. My morning could start with breakfast and "Morning Joe" and when that's over at 9am, I could shower, get dressed and sew for at least a half hour. We'll see if that works for tomorrow.
No Need For AC Today
Today was spent unpacking from the weekend and doing other incidental things. I didn't need to put on the AC although it was very warm today. By having the ceiling fan on in the dining room and the sliding door opened, it stayed comfortable inside. It got too cool in the LR at one point and I recently turned the fan off. I may turn it back on if it gets warm again.
The day was beautiful although warmer than I'd like for this time of year. I'm happy that I didn't need the AC.

A Good Weekend
The weekend quilting retreat was a lot of fun. There were 20 of us from our Quilt Guild who attended. I managed to work on 2 projects. I did get the binding put on the front of one quilt and finished 14 blocks of another quilt. The quilt I had hoped to put the border on posed a problem I couldn't correct, so that didn't get done. I'm pleased with what I managed to do. We had "Show and Tell" on Sunday morning to show what we had been working on for the weekend. When I was showing my 14 completed blocks, someone kept saying,"when did you do all that?" I kept saying, "yesterday." Finally, someone commented that when you're quiet you can get a lot of sewing done. I said, "I'm always quiet". There's always some noisy person commenting on how "quiet" I am. That usually annoys me, because there's nothing "wrong" with being quiet. More people ought to try it, they may learn something, or at least be less annoying.

All Packed and Ready To Go
All the sewing stuff is packed. I still have a few things to put into the suitcase which I'll do tomorrow morning. I'm driving up with a friend. That's good because it means that I'll have a navigator if I need one. It's amazing how much stuff you need to take for a quilting weekend. I hope that I remember to bring it all back home again. I'm looking forward to the weekend now. I wasn't too psyched about it all yesterday. It should be a fun weekend with the quilting guild ladies. I hope to get one guilt top completed including borders. I also plan to sew the blocks for 2 separate quilt tops while I'm there. One of the gals we're rooming with is going to show us an easy method for doing hand applique. I'm very interested in learning her method because I find hand applique to be tedious at this point. If there's time I will cut the border for a baby quilt and sew the border onto the front of the quilt. That might be something productive to do on Friday night since we'll have less time for sewing. One thing good about getting together with other quilters is that you always learn something you didn't know before about quilting. There's is also always someone to help you if you're having a problem with a project. I'm taking one that will be challenging to put together. It has to be sewn on curves. I'm hoping that someone will give me an easy way for doing that this weekend. Happy sewing on this beautiful spring weekend.

It's Coming!
We 're getting closer to the warm weather promised this weekend. I heard one report that it will be in the 80's on Saturday and Sunday. We can finally turn off the heat.
Today went quickly. I did manage to get a lot of knitting done. I also washed a load of towels. Tomorrow I pack for my trip. I'll need to iron a bit before I pack. That almost seems to be a waste of time since the clothes will get wrinkled again in the suitcase. However, the wrinkles will be from folds in the clothing. Did I ever mention that I hate to iron? I'll need to stop at the store to pick up cat food and litter before the weekend. I'll do that early tomorrow morning. I also hope to be able to knit a few more inches tomorrow. I may even take the knitting with me to work on this weekend. Friday night would be a good time to do that since we'll have less time to set up our sewing machines and all the stuff required for quilting. I hope I finish the afghan this weekend.

Putting Things In Order.
It's finally stopped raining here. I was able to take out the garbage without getting soaked. I'm in the midst of doing laundry. The bed has clean linens on it. There are 2 more loads of laundry to do. I've straightened the bedroom and will dust and vacuum in there tomorrow. I figure that I've done enough cleaning for the day. I will soon get back to my knitting. I'm listening to a music channel on the TV. It's very relaxing and is conducive to sleep. When I begin to knit I'll put a livelier channel on. I did manage to take out some of my spring clothes from the hope chest. I want to have something lighter to wear this weekend when the temperature is in the high 70's. I'll still need to get out shorts and culottes and tee shirts for the warmer weather. I can also use them when I play golf. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather.

Getting Ready
When I returned home from Mom's this noon, I started to gather all the items I'll be needing for the quilting retreat I'm going on this weekend. There's so much to bring. I have 2 totes, rather large, 2 small storage containers with incomplete projects in them, a sewing machine and a suitcase to bring. I may fit one other person in the car if someone needs a ride, but I don't think we'd have room for 3 people and all the quilting stuff. I may decide to go alone with all my stuff. If I do that I'll have my car there if I need it. I can also come and go when I'd like to come and go, without having to depend on anyone else. I still have a few things to do before I can go. For instance, I'd like to wind a few extra bobbins in case I need them. I'll need an extension cord and an iron. E. gave me some Fiber One bars to bring and I'll bring a few bottles of water. I'm looking forward to a productive weekend.

Lots To See
My sister and I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art today. We spent 6 hours looking at different exhibits. Some exhibits we wanted to see were temporarily closed which was disappointing. The Costume Institute is usually a favorite of ours but it was closed today as were a few other exhibits. We did see Pierre Bonnard's work, post impressionism, Impressionism, Modern Art, African Art, Greek and Roman art and European art. My favorite is always the Impressionists. I have framed posters of a couple of the authentic works we saw today. The "real thing" is definitely superior although I still love my posters. It was a fun day, but exhausting. I'm glad to be home with my feet up. This visit today will "hold" me for awhile. I'm not a city person although I love the cultural offerings you can see there. There's too much traffic and too many people. Give me the country life.

Keeping The Trophy
I won the first Pinochle game which means I keep the trophy for another month. There were only three of us playing, but we still played with 2 decks. That's a lot of cards to hold in your hand! We played 3 games and each of us won one. We had dessert and conversation before the last hand. It was a nice evening.
Beautiful Spring
The cleaning and straightening are done. I did get a few things for tonight from the grocery store. I even managed to go to the Quilt Guild meeting this morning. My next plan is to change the bed linens and straighten the bedroom. I always save that for last because if I don't get to it, no one but me will know that it's not been done.
One couple has cancelled for tonight, but there's still another couple coming for cards. I look forward to playing.
What a beautiful day today turned out to be. I have the door and the kitchen window opened. When I get the screen fixed for the front door I'll be able to get air in there also. I can't wait for that to be done.

Friday, Friday
It's an early day. I've checked my email and am catching up on the overnight news. I'll have breakfast, take a shower, and watch Morning Joe. Later this morning I'll pick up some items from the grocery store. When I return home I'll straighten up, vacuum and dust. Hopefully, I'll find some time today to continue knitting. I'm hosting Pinochle this evening.
Today's weather should be around 70 degrees. I'm planning to open the doors and let the beautiful spring air inside. Coco and Sandy will be delighted that they can sit by the door and look out. They'll hear the birds singing which will enchant them. I'm hoping that I can keep the doors opened while my guests are here this evening. How exciting! Spring weather at last!

Thursday
I'm happy to be back home again. I did get a lot of knitting done. I'm half done with the baby afghan. I'll finish it in a few days. This one went faster than the first because I was use to the pattern.
Mom's chair was delivered today at about 5:45pm. I would have been happier if it came earlier. Now I have to miss a meeting tomorrow because I have to prepare for company tomorrow night. Oh,Well! You can't do everything. Have you heard the sensation Susan Boyle yet? I had an email from a friend and was able to hear her sing. She's fantastic! Just goes to show that you "Can't judge a book by it's cover."

Tuesday, Tuesday
We went to purchase an electrical chair for Mom today. It will be delivered to her home on Thursday. Tomorrow we'll go down there and we'll be prepared to wait for the chair. I'm bringing my knitting. I expect to get alot done. The last time I knitted there with no interruptions, I knitted 12 inches on the afghan. I plan to do the same tomorrow. Since I'll be down the shore I need to change some plans I had for Thursday. I won't be able to host the quilt group here that evening. I will still host Pinochle on Friday evening. I'll have to find some time late on Thursday to vacuum and clean the bathroom. Friday morning is our quilt guild meeting. I need to attend to find out the particulars of the retreat weekend. After the meeting I'll stop and pick up dessert and beverages for my Pinochle friends.

Monday, Monday
Tomorrow I'm taking Mom's car for an oil change. After that we're going to the medical supply store to buy an electric recliner for her home. E. said she'd be coming over for a visit also. I'll be knitting as long as I am able. Coco and Sandy demand attention from time to time. Coco especially. She likes to sit on my lap whenever I'm busy doing something and I don't want to be interrupted. It's always best to stop what I'm doing for awhile and spend time with her. Ignoring her could be worse. She is very determined and doesn't take NO for an answer. On Tuesday, I'll take Mom home and pick up my car. Hopefully, things will return to normal later in the week.
Easter Sunday
The day is coming to an end. The meal has been easten. The dishes are done. Our company has gone home. It was a nice day with family. Inspired by watching the Masters, I decided to practice opening and closing my golf cart. I read the directions. Very Important! The cart was easy to open, but it would have gone faster if I had watched the DVD first. Closing the cart is even easier. I'm psyched about playing golf and walking with my lime green cart. I'll look the part, anyway. I have a lime green outfit, complete with cap, and even a lime green water bottle. They'll be green with envy. I'll blend in with the environment just like an insect. Since I'll be praying with every shot I take, I guess I'd be a preying mantis if I were an insect. One day this week I'd like to go to the driving range and drive balls. I have a feeling that my friends are going to want to get out there, on the course, before too long.

Easter
The Salads are made and in the refridgerator. I've showered, washed my hair, and painted my nails. We're watching a movie on TV about Moses. Tomorrow, on Easter, "The Easter Parade" will be on the TCM channel. I'm hoping to watch it.
Easter Preparation Tonight
In a few minutes I will go to the kitchen to make the salads for Easter dinner. I'm getting a late start because we drove up from the shore this morning. We had planned to have Easter down there, but plans changed. While I was down there without the cats, I managed to get a lot of knitting done. I think that I added 12 inches to the afghan because there were no interruptions. I haven't been as lucky today.
Tomorrow morning I'll attend the 8:30 am mass, then pick up D. to bring him over for our Easter celebration. E. and D. will come in the afternoon. It should be a rain free day on Easter which will be nice.
Happy Easter to all!

Thursday Morning
My morning started 4 hours ago when I was awakened by Sandy. I forgot to close the bedroom door last night. Before I leave for mass I have a few phone calls to make. After mass I'm headed for the shore. I put the things I'll need into the trunk of the car already. I also took out my collapsible golf cart. I need to watch the DVD to see how to open and close it. If I decide to walk the course, I'll need to know how to do that.
The temps will reach about 61 today. I'd like to take a ride to see the ocean. It's so peaceful during the off season. The summer season starts in about another month and a half. Unless you arrive early during the summer, you'll never find a parking space. The next 2 days will be rainy. We need the rain. I'm happy that the forecast for Easter is for good weather.

Wednesday
Today was a very productive day. I went to mass. When I returned home I did some laundry, washed the dishes and started to clean. I can now say that the living area is "liveable". I'll tackle the bedroom on another day unless I get a spurt of energy after supper. I want to put fresh linens on the bed, vacuum and dust in there.
We've had a change of plans for Easter. Instead of going to Mom's we'll be having it here. My brother sprained his ankle and right now needs to be near his oxygen. I'll pick him up after church on Easter and bring him here for dinner then after dinner we can bring him home.
My sister and her husband will also come for dinner. According to the weather forecast it will be about 51 degrees on Easter and it won't rain. Hurray for that.
Tomorrow I'll go down to get Mom. We probably won't return here until Saturday so we can get her mail and it doesn't accumulate. When we get back here on Saturday I'll make the salads for Easter dinner. E. is bringing dessert.
It should be a nice day.

MJ Today
Mah Jongg was fun today, buy I didn't win one game. I'm just getting use to the new card. I tried some "new" hands and came close, but no cigar. We played 3 at a table. When it was time for lunch all 6 of us stopped at the same time and ate together. The conversation was lively. A few of the women can almost be called non-stop talkers. Sometimes it's hard to get a word in edgewise. Nevertheless, it was a fun filled afternoon.

MJ Tomorrow
Tomorrow is our MJ day. It's always fun to play. I have to remember to pack a lunch to bring for myself. The hostess provides munchies, dessert and beverages. Lately we've been starting to play at 11:00am and going until 3:00 or 3:30pm. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. Wednesday will be a laundry and cleaning day for me. I hope that I can get psyched to do the whole house in one day. With that behind me, the rest of the week is mine to do with as I please. I will be spending Easter at the shore with my family. Coco and Sandy will have to get along without me. That shouldn't be too hard although they'll probably meow at me for an hour or so when I get back home to let me know they're not pleased with my absence. Like is tough for all of us.
A Great Visit
We had a great lunch and a wonderful visit today. It's always fun to reconnect with friends we haven't seen for awhile. The rain didn't put a damper on our luncheon. I left to meet a friend for the ride to lunch which we scheduled for 12:30pm, at 11:00am, and got back home at 7:30pm. It was a full afternoon with good friends. I wish that our visits weren't so far between. Thank you for your good company and precious friendship, dear friends.

Where Did The Day Go?
"Where did the day go? " has become a familiar cry for the end of just about every day. My mother use to say that when you reach 50 years old, they speed up time. It sure feels like that is true. Since I've been up since the wee hours of the morning, I'll be calling it a day, soon. Tonight I will shut the cats out of the bedroom so that I get a good night's sleep. Last night they woke me several times which was very unpleasant. I'm not going to let that happen again. Tomorrow morning I'll attend the 9 am mass at the local church. After church I'll make a stop or two and later will join friends for luncheon. I'm looking forward to the day.
Palm Sunday
Today is Palm Sunday. I went to the 8:30 am mass at my church. It was a very nice service. I spoke to two women about the communion breakfast which will be held in June. I'd like to go so I'm going to purchase 2 tickets, one for me and one for S. She'll be visiting at that time. After church I picked up D. and brought him down the shore. Once there I did Mom's shopping for the week and also did a bit of laundry for her. I arrived back home at 6:30 pm.
Tomorrow I'll meet two friends for lunch and on Tuesday, I'll play MJ with the MJ group. I have to pick up the Easter ham on Thursday. We'll be celebrating Easter at Mom's this year. I hope that we have beautiful weather that day. I love it when we have a warm Easter.

Home Alone
Today I took Mom back home. D. picked me up to bring me back here. I had just gotten the car unloaded when he arrived. I needed to pick some staples up at the food store to hold her over until I can get down there again. D. was very nice. He offered to go to the store for the few things while I rested. I was very appreciative. I just returned home about 15 minutes ago. I put on some Easy Listening music and have my feet up. I'm hoping for a surge of energy so I'll be able to get some cleaning done. I'd like to wash the kitchen floor and 2 bathroom floors. If I accomplish just those 3 things today, I'll be happy. I vacuumed the floor the other day so that can wait another day or two. I do have to dust the LR/DR/BR. I can do that tomorrow.
Palm Sunday is tomorrow. I'll go to my church for the 8:30 am mass. I told D. that I'd pick him up and take him down to the shore. I'll do the shopping for Easter and get anything else that Mom will need until next weekend. Then we'll come back home later in the day.

The Joy of Spring
The week comes to an end tomorrow with a thunderstorm. We need the rain. Saturday promises to be dry. Enough with the weather forecast. I'm waiting patiently for warm, not hot, weather. Oh, the joy of spring!
I loaded Mom's car trunk with some of her things today. We've been waiting for a good weather day to take her home. Yesterday it rained. Friday more of the same so we've planned to take her home on Saturday. I'm looking forward to getting my home back. I love Mom, she's good company, has a great sense of humor, but it's time. Oh, the joy of spring!

A Beautiful Day
What a beautiful day it was today, in more ways than one. I went to church this morning which was very fulfilling. Tonight I went to a meeting of an organization which is part of my church. It was a very rewarding meeting. A Deacon spoke at the meeting and I met some very friendly, and welcoming people who also attended the meeting. I've never belonged to a church group before, but I feel that I will like this organization.
