A Week At The Lake
Last week I vacationed at Big Bass Lake in the Poconos with 3 friends. It was a very relaxing, quiet week. I didn't watch any TV. Read "Water for Elephants", quilted, swam, hit balls at the driving range, ate, and we played a game every night. We taught one of the gals to play Mah Jongg, we played Rummy Kube, Phase 10, Mexican Train Dominoes and caught up on everyones news. It was so peaceful. I enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch to eat our meals. Even the rain that fell didn't ruin any day for us. My cousin invited us for a BBQ. He has a place at Eagle Lake which is nearby. Another friend invited us for lunch at her home in Buckhill. We visited the shop called Twiddley Bits in Moscow, Pa. I bought a walking cane/flask, a quilted square which I'll use as a kitchen curtain valence, and I managed to buy 4 green depression glass dessert plates which were very reasonable. It's strange how when you return home, although it's good to be home, it seems like the vacation was many weeks ago instead of last week. We are planning to rent the house at the lake next summer also.
