The bridal shower was lovely. It was an afternoon Tea. The favor for all who attended was the teacup and saucer that we drank our tea from. Mine is white with pink roses on it.
It was nice to see long lost relatives again. My mother's cousin, Anne, and I will meet again in September while my house guest is visiting her elderly aunt in the town that Anne lives in. It is a small world indeed. One of Anne's friends just got a job last year in the school where my former college roommate teaches. It seems that wherever you go someone knows someone you know or vice versa. I left the tea at about 3:30pm. It was raining heavily. Instead of the 40 minutes it should have taken to get home, it took an hour and a half because of flooding on some of the roads and downed trees. Happily, I left the rain behind me. What is it they say? "Happy the bride the rain falls on"? Today was just the shower but I hope the wedding day is a beautiful sunny day.
