The Weekend's Ending

It was a nice weekend. We played Pinochle last night. The deck was brand new. I had trouble shuffling it. At one point while I was shuffling, the cards flew out of my hands and landed in my lap. I felt like I was all thumbs. I decided to shuffle half of the deck and then to shuffle the other half, combine the two halves and then cut the deck a few times. After that deal, J. came up with a double run and his hand was worth 155 points and he won the game. I couldn't deal a hand like that again if I tried.
Today I went to mass at 11:30am. It was still quite humid out. The church was cooler than outside, but I thought it was still warm inside. There were 2 small children sitting in front of me. It's alway distracting to have the "little ones" nearby when you're in church because they don't sit still or pay attention to the mass. I wish they had a children's mass. If they did I'd avoid it and go to a "grownup" mass.
I spent the afternoon relaxing. Tomorrow I'll go to the library to pick up a book I ordered and to return the DVD I watched yesterday. At the end of the week I'll be heading to the hills for a short vacation with 3 friends. I'll be spending time this week getting things ready for the trip. I'm looking forward to a change of scenery and fun with the girls.
