"Laughter In The Rain"
"Laughter In The Rain" just played on the music channel. Do you remember that song? ( I'm back to the rain theme. ) My brother and I often played in the summer rain as children. As long as there was no lightning we were allowed to put on our bathing suits and go out in the rain. It was a way to cool off in the hot summer when you didn't have a pool. It was interesting to float paper boats or popsicle sticks in the gutter and watch them sail down the street to someone elses house. We stayed on our property mostly and enjoyed being the only ones outside on our street. I guess the other kids were afraid they'd melt if they got wet. There was laughter in the rain in those days. I also remember a time in college when there was "laughter in the rain". The night my roommate and I each met our college boyfriends was a rainy Friday in September. That night brings to mind another rain song called "September In The Rain". I guess I have many happy memories of being "in the rain". I can't say that "Rainy Days and Sundays Always Get Me Down", although I always liked that song too. They say that into each life a little rain must fall. It's nice to be able to say that not all rainy days are negative. Our gardens wouldn't grow without rain either. The result is beautiful flowers, and ripe fruits and vegetables to eat. So, I welcome the rain. May it continue to bring happy moments which will turn into special memories.
