The New Card

Tomorrow is a Mah Jongg day. We'll play from 10:30am until about 2:00 or 3:00pm. I'm hoping that we'll get our new cards tomorrow. They were issued about a month ago, but the gal who ordered them for us hasn't played in that time. I got a glimpse of the card from another friend who had hers at lunch today. It takes awhile to get use to playing with a new card, but after playing with the old one for a year, you're looking forward to a change. After a hand of MJ we each discuss what hand we were making and what factors helped or hindered in our winning MJ. The game is challenging and satisfying to play. We break for lunch and enjoy the socialization and conversation that takes place. Lunch is only about a half hour because we're always anxious to play again. Our group tries to get together at least 2 times a month, sometimes we're lucky enough to fit in 3 days of playing. It all depends on the individual schedules of our 7 members. The helpful thing in that regard is that you only need 4 people to play a game. So as long as four of us can make it, the game goes on. I look forward to playing tomorrow and to seeing the friends who play this game. It's time to "catch up" on the news we've missed since the last time we were together. Thank goodness for friends. Where would we be without them?
