Before golf today, I met several former colleagues for breakfast at a local diner. I had french toast and a cup of coffee. That was my mid morning snack because I had oatmeal at about 4:00am. I managed to slip back into bed afterwards and Sandy let me stay there until 6:45am. He can't stand to see me lie down.
Breakfast is always fun because of the conversation. It is also a time to catch up on the retiree news, things like recent deaths or injuries etc. I'd like to hear some happy news about someone winning the lottery or something similar instead, but death and illness is part of the aging process. Not too many people came to today's breakfast. It is our last for the year. In May we have a luncheon at a local restaurant. That's always fun, too. I look forward to seeing more people at that function. It is a beautiful day today. The sun is shining and the flowering trees are in bloom. I love days like this. Hope we have many more.
