When The Holiday Is Over
Holidays are always welcome. We love to celebrate and to see family and friends. I also welcome the end of the holiday when everyone goes home. Things are able to return to "life as usual" which is sometimes a welcome relief from all of the hub bub. Even a "small" holiday can be exhausting for the hostess. As I'm writing I hear firecrackers exploding outside. It's Memorial Day. That's something that is usually reserved for The Fourth Of July. With things being the way they are now (the war in Iraq) people are showing their patriotism in many ways. There were the traditional parades today. There were concerts in parks, barbeques, picnics and many different "gatherings" of people to celebrate the holiday. I heard on the news today that there were "talks" in Iraq with Iran. That's heartening and gives one hope that diplomacy may help put an end to the war. Pray for peace.
