Sedona Suns
On Saturday I'll be taking another quilt class. The name of the quilt we will be learning is Sedona Suns. Each block is made with curves. We'll learn how to cut and sew the blocks. Curves are more of a challenge than straight lines to sew. When this quilt is done I'll give it to my sister. She'll use it as a wall hanging. I chose colors I thought she'd like, purples, turquoise, pinks, yellows and other sunlike colors. It'll hopefully have a South Western feel. Elaine likes that style in her home. I hope that I get the top of the quilt done by the end of the month because in the beginning of the next month I'll be taking my next class called Spin Cycle. That will be a stack and whack method of quilting. If I'm successful with that class I hope to give the quilt to my cousin Kathie as a surprise for her. She can use it as a lap quilt or a throw since it won't be "bed" size, but will be about 60in. x 60in. Kathie had a stroke last year. It's so sad to know she has been affected so adversely by her stroke. I last saw Kathie last summer and hope that I'll get a chance to visit her again this summer with quilt in hand. I know she'll appreciate the hand made quilt and it will give me joy to give it to her.
