Old Fashioned Thinking

What is the correct thing to do? Does one invite a single female to a wedding if all the other guests are couples? If you are a modern woman there shouldn't be any reason for not inviting a single female of any age. I for one, finding myself to be a single female would go to a wedding without an escort especially if I know some of the other guests. I guess what I'm saying is that one should extend the invitation and leave the response of either "accept" or "decline" to the invited female. By not extending the invitation you are sending the message that there is something "wrong" with being single. If given a choice of going alone or with a date, I'd opt for going with a date. But don't make me feel like a "freak" by not inviting me.
